Hey guys, just put in some mb quarts and had the door panels off. I took a garden hose to the outside of the passenger side door and I could see water gushing in from the water seal (directly above window when rolled down). I then replaced it with new factory seal but it did the same thing. Toyota indicated the vapor barrier was what kept water from the inside of the door and the seal would leak a little. But its leaking into the cabin floor, on a wire harness no less.

Is that all thats keeping the water out from the inside of the door?

Anyone else have this issue? Or is this one of the many leak problems I live with (wet floor)? Googling "tacoma leaks" has frightening search results.

Normal. Water gets in the doors all the time, hence the drain holes on the bottom of the door.

Normal. You'll also notice that if you roll your windows down and back up after a car wash or rain storm they'll remain wet for a while. The seals keep the bulk out but they can't be perfect since they're the bottom seal on a window designed to move up and down. But that's what the vapor barrier is for. This isn't unique to the Tacoma either

Best you can do is to keep the weatherstripping in good condition. Replace if torn or deformed.
And keep the drains at the bottom of the door clear.
    Replace the barrier.

    Google "Hummer" some time........

This. @RedWings44 is on the money. Just about every car I’ve ever seen with a sliding window is like this. That plastic sheeting inside your door is important

It's normal. After I wash the truck and open the door, I have water drip out of the drain hole at the bottom of the door which came from inside the door.

Thanks guys. So I redid the butyl and vapor barrier and it doesnt leak, except heres the kicker. It leaks from the speaker and theres a rust spot right next to a drain its supposed to go through. Dont know how long my speakers will last.
