Hello everyone, the leather on the top of my 2011 original steering wheel is torn and wearing off. I can get a 2020 steering wheel out of a wrecked parts car pretty inexpensively. I know it will physically fit, but I am wondering if anyone knows if the electronic controls will still work between the 2011 truck and the 2020 steering wheel

Pretty sure yeah, looks to be almost identical to the 12-15 steering wheel. Think a few guys have swapped in the 12-15 steering wheel.

    You definitely can.
I put a 2012 wheel into my 2011, and used an airbag from a newer Tundra.
If the wheel you get has the newer style controls (with the +), you can buy the older style new from aliexpress and swap in.

Get a 2015 which is when the volume buttons made sense.

2015 and newer controls will require running an additional wire from the stereo to the clockspring

    2015+ or 2016+?

2015 should be no different than any other 2012+ Tacoma.

It might've been just 2012-2013 that had the old controls actually.

This is the new wheel, looks like it showed up in 2014.

Wheel and airbag are the same, but controls are not.
For the OP, when i did this swap i installed the wheel with 2012 controls, as i didn't want to run an extra wire and replace the clockspring.
All i had to do was install wheel, airbag and plug in controls.
