In hindsight, they look easier than I was making it out to be in my head. I do like the minimum offset possible to keep scrub radius low

There is no way that thing can spread anything beyond seed or fertilizer. I have the name brand version of that, and I don't think dirt would even fit through the slot or break it up if it was clumpy.

Tractor Supply has manure spreaders. I would get one, but I can't find anyone that has successfully used it for compost or top soil. The one that TS sells got bead reviews, but I found its equivalent and it's $1700. Expensive risk. I can check Southern States, but I imagine it's about the same story.

I checked Sunbelt again and no dice. United, etc.

You can definitely handle it. You just smack the old one out with a hammer, slip the new one in, stack some washers over it, then a lugnut, and tighten it by hand. That pulls it into the hub. They also make tools you can use instead of a stack of washers.

Yeah I was thinking about the rear for some reason and having to deal with the hybrid disk/drum thats back there. The fronts hopefully they slip behind the wb without having to take them off, but I've also done that and its not bad.

I have a whole set of 24 extra oem lug nuts that came with the 5th gen trail wheels, so I can use one and some washers. And if I screw one up, there are 23 more to mess up lol

That’s exactly what I did, used some old oem style lug nuts I don’t need anymore. Worked well.

What ever method you choose, just be sure you use lots of grease. You can do a job on the threads otherwise. And if for some reason you can't feed the stud through the back of the hub grinding a flat into the seat works wonders.

    yep, will do!

Fun fact: when you're torqing a bolt like lug nuts, around 60-90% of the force you're applying is lost to overcoming friction in the threads and head. Only the remaining small percentage goes toward stretching the stud/bolt, which is where the clamping force comes from.

if they have it, if you put me as the "pick-up person" I can pick it up (it's less than 10 min from my house) and I can meet you closer. I work in Reston/Herndon every day.... just tossing out the offer

***Random stupid question I’m trying to solve without google. ***

You have a 20 acre lot that is “flat”. Say it takes you 2 mins to drive across at a set MPH. Let’s say you then proceed to make a huge mountain (100 ft high, starts sloping upward at each end to the peak in the middle) on said 20 acres. My initial though is that going up and down hypothetical “mountain”, across 20 acres at the same speed would take longer than 2 mins. If that theory is correct, does it mean your acreage would also increase?

Would depend if acreage is measured by the footprint of land or the or the surface area.

I'd think they would measure by the footprint, because measuring the true surface area would result in the same issue as the infinite coastline paradox

I'm too stupid to talk distance... but I assume as long as your speed remains the same and the distance remains the same you'd get there in the same amount of time.

however, I know your acreage would not increase as the acres are measured by square feet (43,560 sq ft). so regardless of elevation changes, you'll still have the same square footage despite your volume of soil increasing.

I dislike that paradox because a coastline is finite in the truest sense

    A thing or two...

Acreage stays the same because it is the area defined by the property corners. You're not changing the boundaries of the property.

It will take longer to travel end to end because you're going up/down the hypotenuse of two triangles instead of across flat ground.

So an acre = 43560 sq ft.

Does this mean you can have more than 43650 sq ft within an acre?

Thanks for the input everyone, I love trying to figure out useless things that pop into my head. If not I’d be up all night wondering. Also spotted another sweet taco today in Fburg.

I wondered about the hole being big enough on that. I can look around tomorrow a bit more. We have some farmers at church, but I think there stuff would be way too big.
