I’m wanting to put some camp lights on the sides and back of my bed rack, and also connect the lights built into my ARQ awning.

Trying to get ideas for the best way to wire, I’m thinking I would prefer to have the switches mounted in the bed and able to run with the truck off so I can turn them on and off without going into the cab (I also don’t necessarily want to run any more lights into the cab til I can get a switch pros).

I was thinking some type of distribution box of some sort so I only have to run one wire then run the individual lights off of that. Probably like to have a cut off switch under the hood (or perhaps in the cab) so I can disconnect power from all of the switches so they don’t inadvertently get switched on and drain the battery without me noticing.

Im certainly no electrician and figured someone has probably already come up with a much better solution that I could steal.

    thanks!

I recently did this. Circuit breaker in hood for overload that feeds a 4guage wire to the back of the truck. The large wire feeds a fuse panel in the small cubby. The toggle switches run the circuits on the panel. The recessed push style switch on the top left triggers a relay that opens up all of the fused circuits. I used that switch type specifically because it would be challenging for it to accidentally get pushed. 20210606_162421.jpg 20210606_162427.jpg 20210606_162416.jpg
