Years ago I was always amused to read JD Powers ratings of various GM "cookie cutter" sedans that all came down the same assembly line.

How can one brand be rated much higher quality than another brand when they were built by the same people, with 99% the same parts, in the same factory, at the same time?

Simple...different vehicles have different target customer bases. The customers have different expectations and tend to use the vehicles in very different ways. This affects the JD Power initial quality rankings by a significant margin.

    This is your answer:

They are just as crooked and corrupt as MotorTrend's various vehicles of the year.

My wife and I owned 5 Dodge trucks in a row, all bought new. Then, I bought a '17 Ford F250, new. It was worse...much worse than any of them. Hell, maybe worse than all of them combined!
Then I bought my Tacoma, new, and all is good.

The Ram Heavy Duty trucks are nice trucks. I can't claim to know how reliable they are, or if they are a quality product. BMW, GM, and Nissan are suspect and don't think those are great brands when it comes to anything automotive. The 2 series is probably the best vehicle BMW has to offer. I like the Titan XD, it has Raptor lights. GM, no.

Lol quality has no real metric to a consumer. It has feelings"... take a look at dependability... list looks quite different.

We have new rams for work trucks.......pieces of shit. Electrical issues everywhere from minor interior lights/dash not working to ecu issues and spark issues lol.

Had 2012 F250s forever that were awesome. No way would I put ram over toyota ...or even ford lol.

This is further proof that 2017 was the greatest year of the Tacoma. It’s all downhill from there. When Mike Sweers presented the 2017 Tacoma as Toyota’s “greatest single truck achievement, and the culmination of my life’s work”, he wasn’t joking.

I'm not surprised, Jeep figured out how to make a 3rd brake light that doesn't leak while Toyota decided to let their tip of the iceberg float on, hoping it would melt away outside of warranty like the frame

People are getting better pricing on Their Rams and Gladiators. Those vehicles will be rated higher because of the deal.
