Well said. This will be my last trip with the truck before I put her up on the market. I need to get these sliders on either way.

Do other brands recognize this issue? Anyone have a sub 2009 second gen with sliders fabricated by someone else? Just curious

SAME THING HAPPENED TO MY SOS SLIDERS. You need to drill a hole in the sliders corresponding to the frame rivet. Not every frame is identical and evidently there are some frame rivets sos didn’t know about when they made these sliders. It happens. Drill a hole & be done with it

I just think If they aren’t going to update the design, they shouldn’t guarantee 100% no drilling. I wouldn’t want anyone else to be disappointed with an otherwise awesome product.

Yes that’s a very valid point. I told Eddy about it, and he said he would look into adding holes in that spot a few years ago.

One thing you have to understand @TBGBuzzed is that in THIS HOBBY, it’s not always going to be an easy breezy one handed bolt on clean, perfect fit sort of deal. Truck frames and rivets and tweaking of the frame from offroad use and building steel armor to mass produce for hundreds or thousands of trucks isnt just a cookie cutter thing. I hear your frustration but you have to accept that this hobby involves some grease, oil and BFH sometimes. It ain’t always pretty but you have to learn to be resourceful to get the job done sometimes. If that’s not ok with you, you could always pay a Gucci shop BIG money to do all this work for you instead. I mean that respectfully

A powerful drill, BFH and an angle grinder will get you really far in life.

Well said. Ive had this hobby for 3 years now and have done everything myself. Learned a lot in the process. The only reason I came on here to gripe is because I was personally guaranteed no drilling, and my friend had the same issue and it was blamed on him. I understand that fabricating car parts is a tough business, and truck frames may vary. I respect Eddy for the business he is in, and he does a hell of a job. Just thought I could bring attention to it and maybe Eddy would update the design or remove the guarantee.

Sounds like you should be able to convince him of that, after all these accounts. Glad you’ve been wrenching and learning, me too! Best of luck with the resolution!

Oh boy.. little update. Looks like I slapped on the passenger side to quick. Turns out there is a pin on both sides and looks like i bent the plate torqueing everything down on the passenger side. Don’t know how I overlooked this. This bend definitely compromises the integrity I’m assuming. Need to take this side off and drill a hole as well. :(

You are fine. If you want pull it off, chop out the section that is effected by the rivet (or drill it, whatever is easiest) and call it a day

Meh, cut a section of cardboard from one of your many Amazon boxes and make a template for the frame rivet then drill the appropriate size hole. Be much cleaner than cutting away a section.
