Advice, opinions? All are welcome. I eventually will get both, just undecided on which to do first.

Steel IFS skid before anything, if you plan on doing moderate off-roading.

After a steel IFS skid, then sliders. I also think a t-case skid is worthwhile for wheeling.

Personally I'd definitely go sliders. These trucks have alot of sheet metal down the sides to crunch.

Also depends on where you wheel. Here in the PNW its alot of really tight jeep trails that in a Tacoma involve pivoting sliders off trees on the regular to make turns. Sliders are mandatory to even get on any interesting trails here. Different areas might have different armor priorities.

EDIT: Just noticed your location says PNW, definitely go sliders! (assuming you live on the west side)

I'm not sure if there's a right or wrong way, but I ended up getting sliders first. For me I'm typically able to put my wheel on and over the high obstacles. Plus they serve a functional purpose on the road deflecting car doors (better than tube/side steps due to the angle up on the sliders).

I did sliders first, followed by a front skid. I've personally used the sliders WAY more.

Agree that it all depends on what you do for wheeling. I got sliders with kickouts first and full BAMF skids shortly after. If you’re going to be playing in any rock gardens the skids have been a life saver!F25C1B44-ED63-4B90-88C5-12BDDF6AA082.jpg

@2013XSPX -Budget is always a thing & thank you for thinking of that. Those are nice sliders. Do they angle up at all? Hard to tell in pic.

I would never get flat or zero degree sliders if your looking for a step they sell side step rails for that.

    Thanks everyone.

If you buy sliders first then you can crash thru the area until your oil pan, xfer case or trans takes a big rock hit and then you will be sitting out there looking at the pretty sliders wondering why the hell you did not buy 3/16" full skid plates. Then of course remember the front end will dig in off big angles and the stock rear bumper will get pushed up taking a tail light or two out - trailer hitch helps some. Vehicle speed and placement are the key. 12 years never needed sliders yet (look at them alot but another 100 lbs and $$). My skids are used every trip off road. But no sliders is why I didn't do Hells Revenge just in case ha ha. Bottom line protect drivetrain first then sheet metal. Have fun.

We offer Flat, 10 and 15* angles. We've done a few 20* at request. We're happy to modify for you guys.

As many said, it really depends on you. What you do for wheeling and how you use your rig.

I did full All-Pro off road skid set, then sliders with kickout. Then for looks I added Total Chaos LCA skids.

Got them freshened up this summer :bananadance:
