I posted this in the 3rd gen forum as well.

2020 TRD OR - I assume they use the same specs for alignment (but it’s noted for an SR5).

Had an irreparable flat to the stock GY Wranglers. I’m at 40K, 99% highway so I went with Michelin Defenders. The wheels were balanced with 4-6 oz. each of just stick on weights alone (not including the clamp ons on the inner lip). May have some slight vibration but I don’t have a good reference. From what I read though, this seems like a lot of weight for these tires specifically?

2nd, I had an alignment with the new tires, all of this was at the dealership. I feel like I have to drive with the steering wheel 5-10* to the right to go straight. Truck seems to want to venture to the left slightly with wheel straight. The tires are brand new and all at the same PSI (around 30-32 cold). Does anything appear off significantly here? Any advice?

I’m ok with the alignment numbers. 1. You need to find a very flat long stretch of road and I mean flat. At speed, get going nice and straight and make note of we’re the steering wheel is. 2 once going straight let go of steering wheel and see if you pull (not drift) either direction. If no have them redo the alignment( may have forgot to lock steering wheel straight while adjusting toe). Then check again. This time if the steering wheel is straight and you only have a drift you should be good, if it’s pulling probably a tire. Then they can go thru the process of determining which tire would be causing the pull. Hope this helps.

They said they straightened the wheel, feels the same - off to the right a bit.

Said 3 of the 4 tires were out of balance and rebalanced them.

Wheels now have marks all round the edges like this…

Wouldn’t care other than rust concern and I had planned to sell these soon. Worth complaining about?

The scratches are not acceptable IMO but it happens. That won’t rust the wheels are aluminum.

Are you sure they are actually scratches and not the lube they use to help get the tire mounted?

The lube was on there after the first install. These are deep scratches where the paint is gone. They aren’t glaringly obvious from a ways back and I can touch the larger areas up, it’s just irritating because I had planned on selling these when the 2022 wheels are available.

I like the tires, but to get out of having to work through the dealer I think I’m going to use the Michelin 60 day satisfaction guarantee and get some Toyo AT3s with the 2022 wheels (or 2021 if they aren’t available by that time) installed through Discount Tire.

Are they from previous wheel weights?

No, these wheels have never had weights placed on the outside. This was from the rebalance.
