I know it been a while since this thread has been active but I need to find a solution. I have a 04 Supercharged 3.4 Auto with Deaver J59s.

I don’t know what the hell it is but I’m hoping it’s just extreme axel wrap/wheel hop.

Every so often if I’m in a low gear and go WOT it will climb through the RPMs quick and then I’ll get a violent shift.

I suppose it’s the trans slipping but it’s definitely picking up speed before this happens. And I don’t get any slipping or odd trans behavior at any other time.

It’s almost like when this happens the springs are winding up and when it shifts it let’s all the energy go and like I said. It’s violent, like being hit from behind.

Does this sound like what could be axel wrap with toyotas awful leaf design and grippy 33 ATs?
