they were $400 five years ago. this one was not quite double that. Romanian, not u.s. build.
added the AMD65 wood grip and the slant muzzle device.

A buddy and I were BSing about making a spare parts bin only upper with all my misfit parts I had laying around. Was only short a handguard, and when I went to buy a barrel nut from ALG for a different project...look what I found!

On clearance and also had a shotshow discount going! Too cheap not to be stupid. Gonna paint an old stock I have laying around to match and it'll be complete

I bought 500 rnds of 9mm today. I have not purchased 9mm in looooooooooooooong time (still have a decent stash). Bought some plinking rounds:

I should grab some myself while it's around. Don't like dipping into the reserve.

 

Ain't cheap but is cheaper.

 

Local RK has had tons of 9mm @ $24-25 a box. IT's not flying off the shelves. They've had .22 @ $7 a box for over a month, idle. They moved a whole skid of it to the front of the store for high visibility. 500rd bricks with a HUGE sign, $6.99! Then in smallest font possible below it (for 50 rds)....bastages. As long as people keep walking by these stupid prices, things will get back to normal eventually. If not, the craziness continues. At the end of the day, economics 101 prevails, it just takes time!

 

I stopped by Big R the other day. Tons of ammo on the shelves, no longer behind the counter. Prices were still high, which is why I imagine they had so much still. Hoping it keeps creeping down.

I also stopped by a tiny LGS. Their ammo prices were ridiculous. $40 for a box of 40s&w or 9mm. 5.56 was $24 a box of 20. I walked straight out without looking at anything else.

I have been lucky as one of my go too LGS have been very very fair priced on ammo 20 rd boxes of 5.56 $10 50 rd boxes of 9mm ball ammo $20 .45 ACP $25/$28 50 rd box ball ammo he did keep a 5 box mix or match limit on it....

 

A box limit is understandable, the prices on the other hand……
