96 4x4 brake job questions.

1996, 3.4L ,4x4 : Im having a pretty good size brake fluid leak comming out of the front left caliper. Im guessing that one of seals gave out.. The pads, rotors, and the left caliper need replacing. Being im going to have to replace all of that i may as well put a new caliper on the right as well, right? More or less im sick of going to the shops and over paying. So having never once done a brake job of any kind, but feeling confident i can handle it. It it a job easily handled? What would be your honest opinions? I can get parts for under 250. Or i can take it to a shop and pay $550 (my lowest estimate.) When getting that estimate i was told if they were going to turn the rotors they would have to do them on the truck (making it more expensive )being its a 96 4x4 and something about they cant take them off without having to get new bearings and a complete wheel package. Is that true? With all this said, i had only planned to replace to rotors, pads, and calipers? Do i need to worry about getting new bearings and seals and all that? All in all what would be the best way to get the brakes hooked up so i can check this problem off the list? Thanx

 

Did rotors pads and calipers. Not bad, a pain in ass trying to bleed lines with 1 person though . thanx for the help

 

wheel bearings? to take the rotors off? find a different shop.
