Precisely what I was thinking. Checking weather is for pilots and sailors.
I wasn’t gonna go looking for excuses not to go lol.

Thankfully, no falling trees decided to smite me.

Stay safe! Nasty weather tonight again!

Let's meet up soon and compare notes. I found some cool new "roads" up there recently.

Just got back home. Did most of my exploring around the Townsend area. Given the fact it had rained the night before, and I was alone, with only traction boards, a shovel, and some straps, I decided to stay on gravel for the most part. I did hit a few hairy spots just for the adrenalin, but stayed out of the worst. Found lots of potentially good trails for when traveling with another vehicle though.

If anyone is up in the area, there is a well maintained dirt section a few miles long called Cathedral Forest. Old growth forest, absolutely beautiful. I marked the area with a red pin on the map below.

Ended up having a great bluegill dinner at a local supper club. Then head home.

All in all, glad I got the whim to go. Looking forward to some fall weather camping though. Even with the rain taming the temps a bit, the humidity was brutal.

Great idea! You know where I live, and that beer is forthcoming! Let me know so we can have a mission debrief.

I think I might start taking more of these little trips. I still need to streamline my camping outfit, but no better way to figure that out than by doing.

As usual, @Shellshock is helping people get rid of their money!

    Thank you, Jerry!

This looks interesting. I might make the road trip only 2.5 hrs from the house.

Speaking of helping get rid of money. This showed up today. Had it in my cart for a while now but over the weekend it dropped $30ish. Which was enough to be below the threshold of pain for a gadget like this.
    Thanks @Thatbassguy

I should have bought up a stockpile of these. I’ve lost count of how many people have bought one after I convinced @Thatbassguy to get one lol

I think that’s the weekend my Brother-in-law is moving (if they close on their house). Another family member within 5 minutes of my house!!

Ironically, it was @Shellshock that sold me on the Silky Saw!

Yup! Everyone who has seen it used has been impressed. I still get giddy when I have to use it. :)

I'll be going. It's only 35 minutes away.

Thats the reason you should come up here. We can stop in at Three Sheeps for a beer, or maybe 2
