I am new to Tacoma World. I have a 2019 TRD Off-road and have been looking to put a soft top camper on it. The Palomino SS is built for the Tacomas as are the Scouts. The two campers have a dry weight of 1100 lbs. The door sticker on my truck says 1,000 lbs!!!!!! 1,000 lbs????? That puts any camper out of the question. I don’t understand. Am I just out of luck? Any thoughts would be welcome.

Yep out of luck, but it is your truck and you could beef up the rear suspension.

I had an F250 before my Tacoma, bought it specifically to carry a pop up camper. Payload was 2900 lbs, with the camper loaded up, my wife and dog, we were right at payload capacity.

Long story short, don't expect a mid-sized truck to do full-sized truck things.
