Hello, My name is jeff I just bought my first tacoma! 2013 double cab TRD Offroad it has 99000 miles it was a 2 owner I bought from a toyota dealer ship. I have carfax for all oil changes and maintenance, but nothing shows the the transmission or transfer case or differntials fluids have been changed. I use Redline fluids in our SS Camaro. with this many miles if I change the transmission filter and fluid will it cause the transmission to fail, any and all input will be much appreciated.

I changed my fluid at 100k.
I only changed the fluid that was in the pan.

I did not drop the pan.
I did not change the filter.
And I did not do a system flush.

Listed in the link below are guides to both the flush and drain and fill.
Pick the one you feel most comfortable doing.
( A pan drop, filter change, clean the magnets, and refill would be a good start)

Take note - Save and measure the fluid that comes out.
There is no dip stick for the transmission. You have to put the truck in Temp Check mode.
And it can be a bear to get into. If you measure what comes out, at least you know about how much needs to go back in.

Thank You, for adding me to this forum! I will have some pictures up soon. This is my first Tacoma and trying to figure out how I want to go with it. I am the third owner and right now just changing all the fluid and filters so I know they are all good.
