Has anyone done the Bilstein 6112/5160 lift with 285/70R/17 tires?

Hello, I'm new to this group.

I have a 2019 Tacoma OR 5ft bed and I plan on lifting my truck and getting a bigger tires/wheels. I want to do more serious off-roading, but nothing super crazy. So after the long research I decided to go with this stuff:

- Bilstein 6112/5160 lift
- SPC upper control arms
- Icon 1.5 add a leaf
- Method wheels 703 (bead grip) 17x8.5 +00 offset
- BFG KO2 A/T 285/70r/17

If anyone has done something similar, please share your experience with me. I just wonder if 33" tires will fit with 6112's without rubbing. Also, what is your overall lift height increase?
My local shops are out of Bilstein and only have Rough Country 3" strut lift, which I don't want to do lol.

 

If you’re actually fully articulating the suspension, a lift isn’t going to do anything to reduce rubbing. If the suspension doesn’t see full compression, the lift will help. Generally, the wider the tire, the more likely you are to rub. Running wheels with less backspacing will help clear the UCAs, but they will increase the chance of rubbing on the fender, cab mount, and pinch weld.

If you don’t want to cut anything, your best bet for a 33 inch tire is going to be a 255/80r17 on wheels with the largest backspacing that will still clear the UCAs. Then, you’ll want to max out your caster at the LCAs, put the ball joints on the SPCs in the most forward position you can while still getting the caster you want, and be prepared to use a heat gun on the fender liner.

Do you have any other alternative lift options? I couldn't find any other 3-inch suspension lift kit for the buck, besides Rough Country that comes with 3-inch lifted N3 struts and V2 rear shocks. What about the Bilstein 5100's setup?

 

If you just mall crawl you will be ok. But if you offroad and use the suspension it'll will rub guaranteed

Dude. The lift doesn’t matter. If you run big tires you will have to trim.

 

I have 6112/5160 but with -12 offset rims. My rubbing is very minimal and I probably drive off road more than most on here.

 

What is your 6112 pre load, 6/5 or 5/4?

How’s the ride at 6/5? I’m at 5/4 but could use a boost.

 

Mine are at 6/5, after the 6112's with Freedom Off-Road UCA', 5160's in the rear. I have about 2.75" of lift up front and the rear is close to level with the front after installing the Icon 1.5" add a leaf.

I had to remove the mud flaps up front in order to avoid rubbing the 285/70/17'. I had minor rub on the plastic at full turn on the drivers side. I had the caster pushed out from 2.2 and 2.3 to 3.0 on both sides and the rub is now gone. I am going to do a CMC next week in order to avoid any rub off road.

 

Not bad, I am about dead level with the rear so when I park on any small incline it looks like I am squatting... I might drop one lower to where you are at

 

I’m running OME Dakar medium springsin the rear, so I have a pretty decent rake.

 

I was wondering if these 6112/5160 struts would be compatible with Pro Comps 6inch setup?
