Yes and no. Denny also has those ties with JD Gibbs which is why he's in the 11.

 

Peering into the looking glass, I see the following:

• The truck series vaporizing in the next 5-10 years, being replaced by Robby Gordon's Stadium Truck Series, which puts on a great show, and makes more sense for the modern truck market. Plus, pairing these trucks with the road course events, as they do with Indy, makes sense.
• ARCA replacing the current truck series on the ladder.
• Xfinity becoming an all-electric engine series.
• Cup going hybrid but never full-electric. Reduction to 3.5 or 4-liter V8, speeds staying the same.

 

Interesting, I can definitely see this. But hopefully, the arca series gets a helluva lot better/competitive than it is now. That series sucks really bad now.

 

Not so sure about full electric. Even Formula E has to run 2 cars in a race.

Also not so sure about the truck series. I didn't even know Robby Gordon had a truck series, to be honest.

ARCA will never reach that level. The talent gap is far too wide to maintain the popularity of the current truck series which is kind of saying a lot considering the truck series isn't super popular to begin with.

NASCAR has already expressed interest in going twin turbo and eventually hybrid so I do see this happening at some point.

 

Imma address this first... I mean... the 11 is in their team name. And Denny has far and away made that number identify him waaaay more than it ever identified with JD. And again... money will speak louder than sentiment.

Now... future predictions are always fun. Im saying the following as what I would do if I ran NASCAR... mostly.

1- merge ARCA and Truck, make it a 4cyl TT entry level series. Maybe even have a crossover looking type vehicle. I know it might sound corny but the highest selling vehicles right now are crossovers and manufacturers would be more apt to fund more marketing if it related more to cars they are trying to market on the streets. Equinox, Edge, Rav 4... Nissan and Honda maybe jumping in.
2- Xfinity: next level with V6 engines... maybe hybrid technology here. This series had V6 engines in the early 90s and I happen to like the sound of them... competition was still Fierce as well. This is the series to be green in.
3-Cup: Leave it TF alone. I'm still on the fence with the new next-gen car but at least they're going for muscle.
