So I changed my rear shocks today , I just went with stock . I have to redo the job thou. I didn’t get all the rubber pieces needed , I asked the parts guy and he said all I needed was the top rubber piece next to the 14mm nut holding it on top. I still need the ones that go below . I ended up reusing the crushed ones for now . I’d like to use all new and do the job correctly I never did job this before , so a few more questions …. What torque does the top nut go to or doesn’t it because of the rubber? The bottom bolts just were put on with a impact , looking back I’m going to torque them also (I did it at a friends and he didn’t have a torque wrench handy )

I also recently had a shop do my leaf springs and the pass side leaf looks wonky , it doesn’t bow lol it’s kinda flat looking ( will get pics in the day light) so something ain’t right . I am having cupping issues on my rear wheels and I don’t know if it’s the old shocks (had 130k on them and were stock from 07 had to go) or now I see that new leaf looks weird causing the cupping

Hane's manual says lower bolts are 74ft-lbs and the upper nuts are 15 ft-lbs. If the leafs are stock, the front tends to look kind of flat, but pics would help.

The driver side has alittle bit of a bow to it. Mines not totally flat . The two sides def look diff and I’m not sure exactly what’s going on if anything yet . I do know I have cupping going on and I don’t know why lol

So I went to the torque spec thread and tried to find my own answers also …. The specs you posted do look Corrrct , if I’m looking at the right pics in that thread (to double check you and so I’m confident in finding my own answers lol )

Probably should get the front done since the back are new ? The front I assume are the same age and miles (I got this truck with 80k on it and I’m up to 130 now) . The old shocks did have pressure and rebound they pushed back but they did seam “weaker” than the new ones (just opinion thou) .
