Got the hitch test fitted tonight after some slight massaging with the grinder. I had to do this for the aluminum one also. The Pelfreybilt bumper receiver is dead on 2" so the imperfections in the hitch receivers will always be an issue. Specifically, on this one the corners need rounding up and the top needed some shaving down so the height would match.

This one requires two hands to muscle up and in..damn this bitch is heavy.



Have a convert a ball kit being delivered tomorrow to complete the new setup.

My brother grabbed my old drop hitch today.

I FINALLY got ahold of Deaver to order two new retaining clip bolts and sleeves for my U402's. I obviously won't have them for this weekend, but, I will be able to get those ABS line brackets installed before winter.

STOKED.

 

That is usually a problem with using square tube vs. actual receiver stock. I had the same problem when I built my first bumper on my K5. When I built a hitch hauler for the front of my Ram I ordered an actual receiver stock and works perfect. The receiver stock will also have a band welded around the end to prevent the tube from splitting at the welded seam.

Shelving unit/cornhole and scrap wood/materials station.



Ran out of materials available in the garage. Going to get some more from Home Depot tomorrow most likely.



Plenty of space to pull a vehicle in half way and get around it completely. It's definitely a nice use of otherwise "dead" space.


Next, was getting a cabinet hung up. Going to strip and repaint it.

Hung up the busted chair armrest as a novelty piece too.



Plenty of clearance and the contents of the cabinet are accessible with the truck parked.

Picked up more 2x4's today...easy enough to get and load up solo. Not looking forward to having to get the plywood. Hoping for some scraps

Left a 1/2" gap to maneuver the plywood into. Once it's a framed out once the plywood is in place, it'll be solid. However, if I need to make some modifications to it, it will make life easier.

I'm really digging the rhino ramp storage. Worked out well since, one you get up that high, the garage door tracks and mechanisms get tricky. Makes more sense there than above the 72 in the workshop area, too.

Thinking about some hooks or PVC (probably hooks since they're cheap) for the flag and fishing poles.

I think I'll be able to squeeze 3 shelves out of this thing too.

Plywood acquired successfully. Two employees were hanging out by the saw so I got lucky.

Thinking about building another one of those old brackets and throwing up a scrap piece of wood to hold the 270 apart from this shelving unit. It's too long and hits the rhino ramps.

Hit up a meet this morning and got some cool pics taken of the truck by a fellow Tacoma owner:









Got a bunch of stuff done around the house today as well. Hosting my brother's birthday party in a few weeks and need to get the house in order for it. It's nice to have a party to prepare for since it's gives me an excuse to get shit done.

Got these brackets installed finally. Driver's side was cake. Passenger's side was a bit more difficult. The nuts are located on the inside of the leaf packs so they had to be flipped. I should have unbolted each one and flipped them around before the install 2 years ago.

The bolt was already seized in the sleeve so that took a bit of persuasion with a dead blow and a pry bar. The new sleeve was too wide for the retention clip. It is a simple fix with an angle grinder, but I just reused the old sleeve with a shit ton of anti seize. All in all, not bad.





Going to work on finding something locally or online or a combination of both to have spares moving forward. I wonder if McMaster Carr has anything. Fuck Fastenal.
