    Must have been for that price. I would be willing to bet money that they were wore out and ready for the scrapyard too. Most of the CG cutters are well past the end of their useful life cycle. There has been a fleet wide replacement program that has been delayed several times over the years. It is finally on track and they are getting some very nice ships. Several were made over in Mississippi at Ingles Shipyard who was also making Perry class FFGs at the time. The CG Cutters were being built next to them and they looked a lot alike. So much so with primer on they they looked identical. Only way you could tell them apart was when one was haze gray and the other was white with the racing stripe. Lol.

    I understand that, especially with the price of lumber now! I’ll do a write up on my build thread to explain the saga.

    I’m building the standard 26” wide, wheel well height platform with storage access from the tailgate and a second compartment at the front of the bed with a hinged access panel. I went with 1/2” hardwood ply to save weight.
