Hello - my truck brake light came on at about 212k miles - my fluid level was low and I added fluid. The level went down again - I'm not seeing any leaks - where would the fluid go - if not on the ground? When the fluid level goes down the brake gets spongy and makes a rubbery sound which I think is normal with low fluid.

It is rear wheel drive with shoes on the back and pads on the front. Any thoughts on what might be happening?

    thank you

Is it a manual? Mine was leaking from the clutch master cylinder in the cab. Very slow leak though.

Redline custom leather shift and e-brake boot. VFTUNE Super Full Otto cycle, octane learning, premium fuel.
Check the paint under your master cyl, quite often the will seep down the firewall there.
Also wheel cylinders in the rear can hold a surprising amount of brake fluid in the cups when they start to leak.

    Thank you

    Sean42 - It's automatic - thank you though....

    Wrightme43 - I'll check those places - thanks..

Also someone said it could be going into the Brake Booster - has anyone heard of that?

I'll be looking again later today...

Have you pulled the drums and looked at the wheel cylinders?

Yes I have seen it leak into the brake booster. Usually you will still get the tell tale paint softening and bubbling under or along the booster or firewall.

    Thank you for the replies.

I'm finally seeing where the leak is taking place it's in one of the lines going to the rear brakes - It's probably tome to replace them all?

How are those lines replaced? It loos like there's a small section from the back section to the rear brakes - but the leak appears to be just prior to that - so I'm not sure how it gets to the front. let me see if I can get some pictures...

    here's some photos - any videos/drawings available?

Is that metal going from the back to the front = I can see the smaller section in the back is rubber... I'm up on ramps too - no lift -
