First time Tacoma owner. Bought a 2021 Tacoma TRD 4x4 Off Road.

Please give me your thoughts on wheel spacers. Size, brand, pros and cons. I really know nothing about them except what I've read on general forums. I like to know what real Taco owners think. I'm happy with the stock rims and tires. At least for now. Thanks.

Buy a reputable brand like Spidertrax and buy new. FOLLOW install instructions (loctite, torque, checks, etc.). Majority of failures are user install error. I wheeled with Spidertrax 1.25” on my 2nd gen for 4 years and they never did fail on me.

I’m sorry for the ignorance, why does one use wheel spacers? So you can fit larger tires with out a lift?

Wouldn't consider then unless you absolutely require them. Better off with a 2/1" lift to fit bigger tires.

They seem to be used to make trucks look cringe.

I used them to mount z28 wheels on the front of an S10 to clear the calipers.

In other words, they can be used for 'correcting' an improper fitment of parts choice.

Many times they are used for looks. Some folks like poke.

Lift doesnt help fit bigger tires. The issue is wheel width and backspacing due to the cab mount position.

Wheel spacers are ok but I wouldnt go much larger than 1.25 and would only get them if you absolutely need them. I recommend buying a wheel with the proper backspace furst.

The wheel Spacers that cause trouble are ones that slide onto the hub and then the wheel is put over the spacer which reduces the thread depth to the lug nuts. The kind most folks use on here are bolted to the wheel hub, then the wheel is bolted to the spacer. I've been running those for years and never been an issue

My 1.25” spindertrax wheel spacers make me rub badly with my 265/75 tires and stock suspension. I’m going to have to take them off
