I thought oil / filter change was included - is it me ?
To boot, I understand the car-wash is no longer included due to covid concerns...

You don't get the first oil change until 10k, and yes it'll be free

Toyota changes the oil & filter at 10K and 20K, unless you ask for them to be done earlier (you get 2 free oil changes regardless of when you choose to do them). I chose to have them do my 1st oil change at 5K.

    You already paid for it.

    So it's not really free.

My local dealership stripped the bolts on my skid plate. A free 20K miles oil change was not worth the price.

My dealer said get it in there at 4,000 miles for first oil change. Only 2 changes?.. that's pretty lame my Forester came with 4 but whatever. Also got an Email about re-applying some ZakTEC PREMIUM PROTECTION stuff.

I suppose any dealer can do this? I got one real close to me and where I had to go buy it was like 40 miles away.

No need to do oil change at 4k, your dealer was probably just mentioning the first maintenance at 5k which is tire rotation/fluid check basically. Refer to the owners manual for routine maintenance schedule (oil changes every 10k).

No idea was that protection stuff is, probably a scam. EDIT: I just googled it and yeah its a super duper secret "paint sealant" that they want you to pay for every 6 months. Learn how to wash/clay/wax your car with ceramic coating. Easy to do yourself and will be wayyy cheaper than that crap and better quality.

Pretty sure my dealership denied all 3 of those firms of payment. They insisted on credit card or cash. Where are you going!?!;)

Oh this ZakTek business was 'built-into' the price - couldn't be removed - just part of the deal take it or leave it.
They are giving me 2-reapplications but after that I won't re-up.
