Hi all, my off road adventures have reached the point where I need more self-recovery capabilities than what my Hi-lift can offer. I think I'll be able to spring for a winch soon, but the next problem is how to mount it. I like the look of the US Off-Road bumper, but it is currently way out of my price range. I considered a font hitch receiver, but I really don't prefer the look, and I would like it to be permanently mounted. I found a few low-cost winch mount plates like this one at Rock Auto.
My question is: has anyone tried using something like this to mount a winch behind the stock bumper? Any other suggestions for a low-budget permanent mount are welcome too. Thanks!
