Can anyone recommend a dash cam? Also wondering if a rear camera is a good idea as well.

    Oh look, another mod....
I bought this one off of Amazon (back when it was just $99). I also bought a polarized lens cover, SD card, mini-usb cable and the dongle adapter.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07R638L8N?ie=UTF8

It's so small, most of the time, I forget it's there. The video quality is excellent too.

    Here's an installation video:

I have a Rexing v5 that also has a rear camera. There’s a few things that annoy me about it, and it’s not the most discrete option. The new garmin cameras have features I wish the Rexing had, I’d probably go with one of those if I had to do it again.

I use grandpas old reel camera taped to the dolphin fin on top of the cab. Gorilla tape holds it nice and snug.

Someone already mentioned, but I’m putting it out there too. Garmin mini and the dogle off Amazon. Small and not bad video quality. The dongle allows you to use your mirror for the power source making life Fucking easy.

I went with the Thinkware U1000 front and rear and don't regret it. But there are plenty of good dash cams for cheaper.

Just got me a Kenwood DRV-A301W for $99 off from Crutchfield. Really simple to use and picture quality seems good.

I run a Blackvue DR750S-2CH paired with a Cellink battery pack for 20hrs of additional parking recording. Had it since I got the truck, and makes good use of the GoPro mount.

There are an incredible amount of bad reviews for this dash cam. It’s the one I was going to purchase. Do you have any bad experiences with it? I had no idea so many people had problems with it. Normally I chalk up a bad review to a product with so many good reviews as a person who can’t read directions or is too stupid to understand the product performance but this one has me wondering now.

Been happy with my Rexing A129 (has a rear camera too saves the rear feed as a 2nd video) this is ao far the closest I have come to needing to use the dash cam for it's intended purpose. (Proving innocence.)

Note! Loud sounds and bad language.
