    Mods? Yes, oh yes..
BLM, National Park or private property are gonna be our only options if the closures stay in effect, which let's be honest, unless we get some CRAZY rain, it's not gonna happen with the La Nina. We're set for a very dry winter.

BLM is better because trucks but worse because no developed campsites are gonna be available for a group this big. We need to get a backup site in the works or start preparing for next year's re-redux.

I might actually have to start a bacon business and ship out the goodies because we won't be able to do it in person.

The only problem with BLM are no restrooms for the ladies...and by ladies I mean you @kasnerd.

Stoddard Wells is an option. we can make a run up to SlashX for a snack.

Lytle creek fire is 50% contained. Let’s hope things keep looking up.

I'm getting asked if the site is going to open, I believe it will.

    There are many positives.
The staff is still working maintaining the campground while the state closes all the forest for two weeks (not just Big Bear).
They are continuing to sell sites for the week before our trip.
With the forest closed for two week there's less of a chance of a fire starting near Big Bear.
There are no current fires in the Big Bear area. I believe the Lytle Creek fire is 100% contained.
We are in September, so it should start getting cooler, we just need some rain.

I feel confident we'll have our trip as planned.

But I'll continue to call the Rangers and get weekly updates.

Checked the ol' lady into the maternity ward today. Lookin like the little dude will be here the last week of September, maaaaaybe first week of October if the docs wanna roll the dice on leaving him in the oven that long. Fingers crossed this event still happens so I can spam the 'refresh page' button and live vicariously thru the pics.

Unfortunately the umbilical cord, placenta & a few big veins are blocking the birth canal. Going into labor could rupture any of those mission-critical blood supplies & baby would bleed out in ~5 minutes.

But I appreciate the enthusiasm for trail running nonetheless!
