    Hi All!

I have a 2016 Tacoma that spent its first 5+ years in Pennsylvania. I moved to GA last year and just noticed the frame has some rust on the welds.

I did receive a remedy notice from Toyota in the mail last year right after I moved about the CRC application which I threw in the glove box.

I took my truck to the dealer today for an oil change and asked them about this. They unfortunately said that only dealers in northern states are certified in the inspection and repair.

Has anyone else had this problem? I really don’t want to drive 700 miles to have the truck inspected by a dealer that can perform the service. Just looking for some advice on possible alternatives.

    Thanks!

Can you contact Toyota directly and ask them if there is any closer dealer who can do the inspection? I know here in WV they do the inspection and treatment. Possibly Virginia? I would recommend doing it just for the fact that down the line if the frame is rusted you had the dealer inspect and treat it. IF rust becomes an issue later on and you didn't get it done then you are SOL. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply ironhead. I’ll reach out to them today.

The dealer I brought my truck to today did an inspection and said it didn’t fall under the frame replacement (kinda figured that) but they did open a case number and said to contact a dealer that performs the CRC and set up an appointment. If that’s the only route then I’ll probably schedule that in conjunction with a vacation. At least I have a year to get it done.
