I am looking at trading up from my 14 sr. So far the best deals have been on the Pros. I plan on doing a 3" lift and running Fox takeoff shocks and struts. Then having 16" wheels on 33" tires. There is a pro in VT with 70k miles for $28,000. Its a few hours away so I can"t take a peek until this weekend. I have only owned base models , so this is new to me.

If you’re already planning on those mods, you might as well look for an OR. Normally I’d suggest not replacing the suspension on a Pro but if it’s been used well offroad, then it definitely wouldn’t hurt to replace.

Also, make sure it’s an actual “Pro” if you seriously consider it

If it’s a real pro $28k is a steal. I would probably only buy a pro if I was going to keep it stock and hold onto it forever. Or if I really wanted the orange color they came in.

FYI - a lot of online listings are incorrectly stated as PRO because the VIN lookup states PRO when it is not.

    Some PRO facts:

    TRD Pro Model:- Bilstein shocks
    - 16" Black beadlock-style alloy wheels
    - BFG KOs
    - TRD cab-back exhaust
    - TRD floor mats/shift knob
    - TOYOTA front grille and matte-black badges

    ONLY Colors: White, Black, Inferno

Also, it's a common and cheap upgrade to slap a knockoff aftermarket PRO grille onto a Sport and pretend it is a PRO.

Look for the ATRAC button, RR DIFF LOCK and other items on the OffRoad that don't exist on the sport.

Check to see if it was wrecked. Why change the hood, rear bumper, grill etc.? Double check is all I'm saying.

As you search, your first stop should be to put the VIN into Toyota My Owners website to see what model/specs it came with:

    https://www.toyota.com/owners/my-vehicle/vehicle-specification

As confirmed here, the truck you are looking at is an SR5 with tow package, exhaust tip, roof rack and all weather mats.
    This is NOT A PRO.

If you have the link or pics, most of us Pro owners can spot a fake pretty easy.

Edit: LOL, @Island Cruiser beat me to it.

Loads of non-Pro trucks out there listed as Pros.
Other quick tell-tale signs that it's a faux not a pro:
    • Color other than black, white, or inferno
    • Bedside stickers
    • Door handles aren't paint matched
    • No hood scoop
As stated by my Pro bros above, post up anything you're considering and we'll help you verify it real quick.
