3rd Gens - Removed B-Pillar Vinyl? Post Here!!

Call me crazy... I LOVE that 1st/2nd gen kinda look! If you've done it, post 'em up!!

Why are these added? For cosmetic appeal or protect your pint from finger oil when closing the door?

 

Both played a factor in Toyota's decision, I'd wager.

My barcelona red doesn't really show the fingerprints that much unless it's real dirty or the sun catches it at the proper angle... I think once you give the taco a proper tint the B Pillars should be naked, my 2 cents though!

 

I hate stickers on my truck and to me these are huge stickers lol

 

All it takes is a blow dryer or just let it sit in the Texas sun for 6 hours and it'll peel off like a banana!

 

Removing is a downgrade on appearance.

 

I scratched one of mine up so removed it, didn't like the look so replaced it.

 

I removed mine when I first got my truck (full debadge and decal-delete) and loved the look without it but now that my windows are 5% all around I wish it was still there.

 

Wrapped mine in fake carbon fiber...I like it

Like many here I removed mine, as it is a “free mod” and easy to do. After a while the look without the vinyl started to bug my eyes, so I replaced it. Ultimately, I side with the design team at Toyota on this one, but was willing to learn for myself.

 

Took it off long ago. Also that bedside decal is gone.

 

I always remove them.

 

Dang - never noticed this until I came across this string.......obviously my SR doesn't have the vinyl on the B-Pillar, but after seeing this, Im getting it done - IMHO looks WAY better with it on!

I like the no-vinyl look but the MGM is dark enough I never really notice it is there. I've had the car since November so I probably missed the window to start peeling stuff off.

 

it’s so funny that toyota just reused the second gen door stamps but still tried to change the dimensional body line of the greenhouse with a $0.001 piece of vinyl because competitor trucks all moved to a blacked out b-pillar… serious ‘doing last night’s homework in the hallway 5 minutes before class’ energy on this one!

it looks fine until you actually *see* it, and then you never unsee it…

like i get it that a black b-pillar is the modern automotive trend and what people like stylistically, but toyota’s cheap-ass solution just looks shoddy and ridiculous; i would absolutely remove mine if i didn’t have the access cab!
