Are we talking newborn to ~ 6 months? Or older baby/toddler size?

I have an xtra cab 1st gen (even smaller than 2nd gen) and a newborn carseat fit in the back, with the passenger seat almost all the way up.

The larger baby/toddler rear facing seats, forget about it. Have to put them in the front seat with the airbag turned off. Although may be possible in the 2nd gens, not sure.

We had one of these Graco Snuglock 35 car seats for when she was a newborn

Her toddler seat is probably twice as big now.

Unfortunately through my research its pretty much near impossible to have a rear facing seat in the back (or at all if you want it safely in there) with a passenger in the front. Therefore, unfortunately I will eventually replace my AC with something else. Baby coming soon!

I have a first gen xcab, you can hardly call them back seats more like a plank of wood. Might not be safe to put a car seat in the back.

Thats why on 1st gen xtra cabs, the actual car seat latches are in the front seat, not the rear bench seats. For safety, you're supposed to put the car seat in the front passenger seat and use your key to turn off the airbag.

You can fit a car seat in the back, but you have to use the seat belt to secure it. Modern day car seats usually have the attachments for seat belts if you don't have the latches.

Anyway I agree, there are much safer vehicles nowadays to be carting babies around in than our trucks. But not everyone has that option right away. In our case, we got a safer family vehicle for day to day use (Rav 4) and I only use my truck to transport our daughter around on family camping trips and what not.

Tried taking her on an easy off-roading trip once but she was having none of that, lol.

You can't have an adult in front with the car seat, it's one of the other.
