Kinda the wrong subject but i need some help. 2021 pro and gonna do a bed rack and tent. Looking at Icon 51100 add a leaf for the support. I have found conflicting info on the support that it has. Please can some one please lead me in the right direction to get the support and then just add a spacer in the front. I’m not a big off-roader. I do find tire mark sometime and explore but looking into over landing. Please give suggestion. Thanks everyone.

Why not use up your stock PRO shocks and add better stuff later? I've been practicing overlanding and deciding what to me is important for upgrades. I imagine the bed rack and tent you want is 400lbs, then you have your gear so maybe 600lbs altogether. I'm a novice but don't you don't think the TRD Pro config will hold up for a few runs?

Personally I'm hell bent on using my stock tires until they're done. Rear suspension will probably come before then since I bring a lot of stuff but I can't imagine putting more money into a brand new vehicle and replacing key parts, that I paid extra for because they're the upgraded version.

You might figure out which tent and rack you are going with first so you have an idea on how much weight you will be adding to the rear of the truck.

    **Edit**
I was running a mid height bed rack with a iKamper mini on the stock suspension and it seemed to handle it just fine.

I would avoid the AAL and get a full leaf pack, Or air bags at least. The AAL won't last long compared to a full pack.

i was just worried about the back end squatting to much. I suppose I just need to get it all set up and see what it does. I don’t want to add stuff I don’t need to either.

same here on the tires. Sitting on 25k miles now. May change before winter hits though. I don’t know. So many things to spend money on it’s crazy.

Do you have any concerns with it hanging off the rear that far? I have a similarly large tent and went with a cab-height rack to avoid the overhand, but would have much preferred the mid-height.

Nope, haven’t had any problems at all. I run three bars so the weight is spread out.

Kevin, I'd look for a used RTT. Lots of posers out there, who buy and never use it, or use it once and decide to sell.

    Seriously....

Has anyone been to the overlanding store in Springfield Mo. or the newest one in Tulsa Ok.? I would like to at least see what I like and try the RTT out first.

I went with a Leitner Active Cargo System for my bed rack. It's the strongest I could find, but also the lightest ~75 lbs. It's great because when you don't have a tent up, you can actually use your bed.

For the tent, I went total overkill, and got a Bush Company Alpha Tent and 270 awning to mount to it. I liked this as I plan to remove the tent when I am not actively using It, and being able to remove the tent and awning as one unit is appealing to me.

Put up some pics of the truck as your build goes! I plan to do a build thread once I get started assembling everything. The tent comes next week.

Man, this is the same exact setup I am working towards! Just installed the Leitner rack a couple weeks ago on my Pro and I am about to bite the bullet on the Alpha tent. Let me know how the install goes! Did you go with the Leiter tent brackets? Also curious if you got a third load bar.

We'll be twins! I did go for the third load bar and I got the knobs separately to make the third bar sliding as well when the tent isn't up there. But I will need to spend some more time with it to see if it's worth leaving it up there when there isn't a tent.

The Alpha tent used to have cross members running side to side underneath and not full length. Which meant you needed to adjust your load bars to be spaced to match the cross members. Back then they recommended FOUR supports. But now that they have changed that and have full length mounting rails in addition to the cross members I think 3 is fine. I was worried 2 would be pushing it.

For brackets, I got the Leitner brackets but I also got some Z brackets/bars that Bush Company makes as an option. Once everything is here, I am going to study it a bit and decide what to do.
