I feel that almost every product or "mod" out there for our Tacomas probably have a legit purpose in an of itself.

If said mod(s) fit the needs of the user, then that's great.

However, I find it more "silly" than a "annoying" to see so many Tacoma owners outfit their rigs just to "look" the part, yet don't actually "do" the part.

Wheel spacers, lift blocks, coil spacers, ungodly amount of stuff attached to the exterior ready for the end of the world or EVERY piece of recovery gear known to man on board without a single mile driven off the pavement.

Resembles the guy that spends $1500 in hiking gear from REI, Pategonia, TheNorthFace, etc and wears the gear around town just to be seen, but will only ever walk up a simple trail that your 5 year old just did in her pink Crocs and Dora The Explorer backpack.

Or, the whole clothing market of "distressed" clothing. Sure, it looks the part, but without actually doing the work that would normally cause the clothing to get the naturally worn look.

It's their truck, their money and their need for social acceptance. Silly, but it's the world we live in now.

YES. Hate that term. It’s called fucking road tripping and car camping.

This is actually a great thread.

It’s almost making me rethink the heritage grille, but probably not :D

Prinsu is a great mod for those that need it. But mounting small items on the roof (Maxtrax, Rotopax, shovels) when the bed is completely empty makes little sense to me. Majority of mods we do make little sense to begin with though.

I was so anti-Heritage Grille for so long…..then I pulled the trigger and put one on my truck a couple weeks ago :D. I absolutely love it.

But, I will not in 1000000000 years ever put raptor lights on it. Dumbest mod ever.

Exactly. It’s an OEM Tacoma mod. Just says “toyota”. Never understood the hate for it.

it’s not like adding Ford raptor lights on your Tacoma..

I'll absolutely take Tacoma owners slapping pro grilles on their trucks over Jeep owners with 'angry grilles' any day of the week.
