2015 Tacoma V6 - Starts right up - runs smooth - I have a check engine light and a TRAC OFF light - no other lights. OBD says P0022 - Checked Oil - full and clean - Do I trust the OBD or is the addition of TRAC OFF light indicating a different problem?

P0022 is intake cam timing retarded. My first guess is that it relates to a VVT issue. Unfortunately, I don't have access to service info right now, nor the experience with the Trac system to say if they're related. I could see where the ECM might disable things like that if certain parameters were out of spec, but don't know for sure. Hopefully someone a little more knowledgeable will chime in.

The trac off light often will come on with the engine light because the traction control system relies on the engine control system to be functioning properly.

I'm pretty sure p0022 has to do with the VVT system but I can't look it up right now maybe @Jimmyh or @TnShooter can post the relevant information for you in the meantime.

Same happened to me recently, but not sure which code it threw.
Anyways, it was my aftermarket AFE cai connection had some kind of rubber gasket deterioration.
    Hope this helps someone.
Mechanic told me Toyotas often light up the trac off with the engine light when somethings wrong.

TRAC light is common with any MIL Code.
