Computer Reader - Tranny Diagnostics

    I'm looking to purchase a computer reader for my 2009 Taco, and have no idea where to start. I've done some research online and have found that there are a variety of interfaces depending upon what vehicle, and then a greater variety of computers that provide more or less information. I do all of the scheduled maintenance on my truck, and would like to have one for peace of mind.

    Also, I was hoping to find one that can give me some diagnostics on my transmission. (i.e. Gear ratios, timing info, etc...) Are there any readers out there that can accommodate this?

    I have a 2009 4.0L V6 5spd Auto.
