I put set screws in all of mine. Don't understand the problem with cutting the spring down. Trying to thread the screw in without doing that is futile.

I only have plans for 2 of these(already have a rifle and pistol lower). The folder will have a Strike Industry short pistol buffer kit with Cry Havoc quick release barrel adapter. 1 Aero will become a SBR lower. The other Aero and 2 17 Designs will be set aside for a rainy day.

Paid 2. I ordered them on different days the past 2 weeks. Had the Aeros shipped to one store and the 3 17 Designs to another.

No a bad deal. I would hate for my FFL to charge me for multiple transfers all in one order

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
i had one place (that's closed now) who would let you max out the form w/ transfers for $20. was nice if you had some bulk orders coming in.

That sucks. I agree, I wish dealers would tone down on the tranfer fees. They literally are just getting free money in the first place.

Not exactly. They're paying someone to help you and they accept a certain amount of liability for every 4473 they do. If that gun turns up on a crime scene guess who is eventually going to get a call. If it's a used gun that happens to be stolen (actually happened to a shop in my town) guess who is getting a phone call.

Edit: Also, the paperwork starts before you get there and continues after you leave. It has to be transferred to the dealer's "bound book" before they can transfer it to you, then back off once it's transferred. If an individual is buying multiple 'handguns' in one day there's also a report that has to be sent to BATFE that can take some time to generate and properly submit. Just imagine the typical government bureaucracy bullshit then think about what you would charge someone if you had to do all of that for them.

So i have a customer who's an absolute dick

He never purchases anything in our store...talks down to my employees about what guns they're carrying in the store...and has twice been asked to stop sending people to his favorite online dealer while they're standing in my shop looking at various guns...I don't have a problem with people price shopping me because i beat most places...but it's extremely rude to stand there in front of me and tell one of my customers they should shop elsewhere

He gets charged the full transfer fee for every serialized item he has shipped in

Other customers get 1 fee per 4473

Sometimes I waive the fee because the customers are polite or nice or because I'm feeling nice that day

Ultimately though...it takes up my employees time and I have to pay them for their time...so a fee has to exist

We set ours based on beating the other local shops so it's $20

Yeah, he caught me off guard when I had something shipped to him. What am I gonna do, it was there.

He used to charge $30 which is realistic. I will be looking for another place to do transfers.

Ouch. My local shop does $40, only use them once. I have a buddy who charges $20, I now have everything sent to him.
