Does anyone else get blow by from the pvc valve or oil cap. I notice some how their is oil residue around those two things and I don’t know why.

Check the PCV valve, to see if it is blocked by crud, the oil around it may be a sign of too much back pressure in the engine.

I am thinking that an oil catch can will be in the works for my 1998 3RZ FE. This picture was taken in the process of dismantling the engine. gunkJPG.jpg

How much? Some sounds normal to me. Pistons moving up and down moves a lot of air, and engines aren't perfect.

    Is it using oil?

Interesting. If its not alot and the hose is a bit loose, it could just be seepage from schmoo running back down the hose when the engine isn't running. If it is alot, then it could be something else, like a bad pcv valve and crankcase pressure pushing oil out.
