From Metro Phoenix to Flagstaff

That area off FR525 is the closest place to Sedona with wild camping. It tends to be slammed with idiots in side by sides and annoying families with huge RVs on the weekend. Since youre retired it would be much more enjoyable on weekdays.

 

Exactly - holidays and weekends are for amateurs 'eh ...

 

SOOOO many idiots out there last year. I had a turkey hunt in that unit and camped a little ways from that road and people were DUMB. Loud music all night, riding side by sides creating lots of dust and worst of all shooting at 2am. I still got a turkey though. But man people are just......

 

I wonder if I need to find another place. Stupid people, Loud music, Shooting, hell I can get that without leaving home. I'd like to think
Tuesday/Wednesday nights would be better.

 

I went on a weekend when that happened. You should be fine during the week.

Just went to Crown King this weekend. Nice little spot.

 

Heck let's get a ride together and drive up some place. Camp. Shoot the breeze -
No politics no religion anything else fair game.
Setup for a milky-way shot before the season ends.

Need a good foreground image pointing to the south.
Milky way coming into view earlier and earlier ( dark-thirty ) until it drops out of view late fall/winter.

Hunt rattlers and such.
