Hey, I have a 2015 4 cyl access cab 4wd ( automatic ) - it just turned over 105k and i noticed yesterday that when I go to drive, it hear this vibration rattle that sounds like a really thin piece of metal. It'll happen at low RPM or harder accelerations, but I wont hear it all the time.

Crawled under it today and the heat shroud above the cat was slightly loose so I put a washer above the nut and tightened it all up ( heat shroud is now tight ) but the vibration is still there. I haven't noticed a loss of power, Herd that it could be the catalytic converter on its way out? but trying to move things around I don't really see much moving that could cause the vibration.

    thanks!

I just had the same thing on my '14. I checked the converter shield and it wasn't loose, I was convinced it was the converter itself. If I pounded on it with my fist, I could hear it rattle yet the shield wasn't loose. I took it to the dealership and they replaced the converter shield and it was all good. The converter and shield is under warranty for 80,000 miles if I recall, of course at 36,000 the dealership tried to screw me and I had to fight them until I got the "oh yeh you're right". I just wonder how many others got screwed before me.

Knock on the cats to see if there's a rattle.

It could also be something like a crack in metal somewhere that is vibrating together at those RPM.

just following up on this - it was the converter shield. The clamps on it were getting a bit loose so threw 2 hose clamps on it and its back to its quiet self and I can sleep soundly. Thanks for the help everyone!
