    Hey guys,

I have a 2020 SR5 2WD and picked up a set of Bilstein shocks that came off a TRD Sport. My intent is to improve my ride as the stock shocks feel too soft. I know the Bilstein's will give me a stiffer ride. The part numbers are:
    Front 48510-04190
    Rear 48530-04110

My question is since I'm going through the hassle of upgrading the shocks, should I change anything else, ie. springs, etc? Also, I'm not looking to increase the height of the truck.

    Thanks for your input!

    Mike

I would wear out your stock shocks before you upgrade if your not going to modify, what i mean is lift your truck at all

I thought the sports came with hitachi shocks and off-roads came with bilstein. Someone correct me if I’m wrong. Those look like trd offroad shocks in the pic to me. I think the sports come with blue hitachis. Those bilsteins in the pic have a softer ride than your sr5 I believe. Hopefully someone else chimes in before you install.

The sr comes with black hitachi. The sport comes with blue hitachi. The off road comes with the yellow and blue bilsteins. Put trd or on my sr and almost leveled it out. The ride got bouncier but not really bothered by it.

Yup... those came on the off road.
I have a 17 set that came with the black Hitachi shocks. They were really bouncy, my back was killing me riding driving around all day. I switched them out for the 5100's and the ride got stiffer, but my aching back went away.

Nice. You're saying you notice a slight lift on it going with that upgrade?

The OR shocks are incredibly soft. The TRD OR is the softest, bounciest, laziest vehicle I've ever driven. But it's a truck and I've accepted that for now. Will upgrade my suspension in the future...but for now it works.

Yes. Front went up at least an inch and looks stock.

Good question. I'm curious if you'd also need the coils that came with the OR shocks, or keep the SR5 coils.

The Bilsteins will definitely offer a much smoother drive, just not sure if the SR5 coils are up to the job, since the the Bilsteins are bigger.
