Hello everyone. I finally bit the bullet and bought not only my first new vehicle (not used), but also my first truck. After a ton of research, there was no denying that a Tacoma was the way to go. I was able to get the necessary backseat space to hold 2 car seats, but also not too big to where I have trouble parking it in the garage. The big selling point for me was that resell values for Tacoma's are ridiculous. Looking forward to many years with it and the kids already love it. I won't be doing traditional truck things with it (off-roading, hauling/towing) with exception to finally being able to buy a big screen tv and not have to call a buddy to deliver it for me, but it's nice to know that if I ever did want to do any of the latter, then I could. I'm still learning what all I'm capable of doing with it, but figured I would ask a couple of questions to see if I could get some quick answers without spending too much time researching (which I'll end up doing anyways probably).

It seems that even the '21 Tacoma's don't support wireless connectivity for android auto yet. Was hoping to keep an old iPod that has my entire music library loaded to it plugged into the usb media port while having android auto connect wirelessly. Is anyone aware of a way to achieve this?

There are some items that I would like to keep in the truck bed, but not without a lockable cover. Basically want to treat it like the trunk of a car at times. Is there a popular choice for hard bed covers that gets recommended a lot around here?

Any hidden features or tricks that are worth mentioning that I may have not discovered yet? With all cars I've had in the past, it seems 6 months down the road I was still finding new things out that I didn't know existed.

Any extra add-ons I should consider buying and installing?

Thanks for the assistance and I'm happy to be a part of the club now!

Welcome to the forums! I've actually got a mx4 bakflip on order, hoping to be here soon! The main reason I went with it, is you can't open it if the tailgate is closed and locked. The only down side is when its opened all the way up, it looks like it will block the rear window entirely. Doesn't make much of a difference to me because that won't be very often.

Good luck, and congrats on the truck!
