I see the landowner in our store, he is different to say the least. He isn’t doing it for money, he doesn’t need money. He said “grandpa did the same thing in the 1930’s and it grew back” o_O

It’s a 187 acre farm which is unheard of around here anymore.

There are farms that are several thousand acres around here, probably because noone wants to live here. Which is :) with me.

It does open up stuff, but hard to look at sometimes. Saw a lot of logging in Idaho

Went out Friday night. Saw these guys off the road and figured why not try and cut them off. Nothing huge but I’d be happy with the wider 3x3 of the group for an archery buck. Ended up cutting them off and had them at the edge of the field next to some timber. Actually had my 7 year old daughter stalking with me which was pretty cool. She ended up finding a big 3 point shed. Like big. And once we got to ~80 yards of the bucks I passed cause I figure there’s a bigger buck out there lol. Met back up with the wife and son at the truck. Ended up finding another porcupine. Big sucker. Twice the size of the one I shot earlier. They’re fairly slow dumb animals so we all got out and followed it for a bit. Pretty cool to watch. Ended up seeing another deer with ~2 mins of shooting light left but couldn’t tell if there was horns on it or not. Didn’t go out after that. Stayed home and did some housework. Needed to earn some brownie points.

I forgot to mention, this clump of trees in red are in the bend of the L shape field, it has the biggest persimmon tree I’ve ever seen in it. Can’t get my arms around it. I used to have a stand in it. It also has several cedar trees around it. It worked great for bow hunting out of.

Have you lost any cameras to the logging equipment? There's been more logging on the mountain around my parents land in the last 3 or 4 years.

I haven't, we haven't hunted there in several years. My cousin has a feeder in the middle of it, it was still there yesterday. Hopefully he pulled his camera's before they started.

Terrible They can say what they want to say it’ll never be grown backThe 40 acres behind me was stripped and logged then sat vacant for nine years only for the owner to pass away and his family is now sold off everything I was able to buy the 8 1/2 acres that was behind me and luckily the remaining 20 that was on my side was purchased by one owner them the other day they are intending to build a house on the far 20 away from me so that’s good

It WILL grow back.....UNLESS it is black topped or developed. Or the soil is so compacted by the logging that it doesn't allow for seed germination.
