Retrofits never arrived, when to dispute charge?

Hello TW,

I ordered retrofit headlights from a smaller company (thought I’d be helping the little guy) https://nomadretrofits.com/

I made an order after speaking with him shortly on IG. Made my order June 6th. His website said 8 weeks lead time. He admitted closer to 12 when speaking on IG. At the 12 week mark, end of august, I messaged him asking about an status update. After a week I emailed and messages on website.
His IG hasn’t posted since August 16th.

How much longer do I give before I dispute the charge and take the L on the last 4 months of waiting for retrofits?

If it were me, I'd do it now.

Call your CC carrier. Speak with them about the charge. It will be a "disputed" charge. DO NOT PAY for that charge. Be prepared with dates and details. Follow up on the conversation with an email to the CC carrier. Get stuff documented.

The CC carrier has a bit of leverage they can impact the seller. Probably not to get your items, but as long term impact on the seller's business.

I would do it now and hope nothing happened to the seller if there hasn't been any communication since August.
