Thanks for the insight! By factory posts do you mean the alu frame brace to the left of your sink? Might there be a spot on the right (over by where my fireplace will be) that looks like it might be a good anchor in for a shelf/countertop?

I actually like the factory ply kitchen and storage area but I'm on a budget. Sigh

That stove/oven combo will be nice. Looking forward to seeing that integrated in to the kitchen. It would be neat to know every combination out there, but the 02 Tundra sounds pretty sweet.

The factory posts keep the insulation in place where the plastic thumbscrews - I just pull the thumbscrew out and put a screw and washer in. Probably not the most secure for heavy items but has worked for me so far.

Profloundering, have you peeled back the insulation to see how those factory posts are mounted to the aluminum body? are they just threaded rivets? I haven't seen a kimbo in person to do my own investigating.

    Thanks

Shower setup update. I took an idea out of spacerhover setup and added a personal touch. Found a used Pelican 1600 online, then added a Joolca mounting bracket, and mounted it to the back quarter panel of the Kimbo. I already have the the Joolca show setup setup. I run 5 gallon water jugs on the side of the truckbed.

I haven't had one of the posts apart but it looks like the threaded post is riveted to the shell.

    Thank you for the response.

I'm on my way home after having visited their production facility. Bottom line: I ordered #207 for delivery next April/May.

Looks great. Having that extra space on the sides really opens up some options like this. Would love to have this option at some point.

Also, looking at these options I came across this incredible photo. I think we need to see a photo like this from you. No photoshopping allowed. I kinda wish I had the job of the person who made this.

Will have some better pictures when finished. Pretty happy with the fit and clearances. The exhaust is now further away from the back door and cleaner look. When not in use I can close up the storage. I have high temp silicone insulating the inside of the stainless steel exhaust fitting. I’ll shorten up the end of the pipe a little too. Will test it out this weekend.

Nice route to keep from having to pop a hole in your bed!! Is the copper fitting a slip fit? Looks like a marine bulkhead fitting, love the look of those.

Looks like you attached the exhaust to the bottom of your fender - can't remember if you have mud flaps, when you hit the snow/ice that area accumulates with large chunks of ice…

Yeah after looking at if for awhile it’s much lower consequence that route if it doesn’t work. I can replace the cubby if I want. Only really worried about the length, hopefully not too long for the heater. The exhaust is the same diameter as the copper elbow so I had to make a slice to get it in. Will make permanent with some high temp JB Weld but probably doesn’t need it. The copper to the marine bull head is a tight fit. I have high temp silicone wrapped on the inside of the bulkhead. I have to apply a good about of force to get it in. The bulkhead does look neat. Wish I could have it in a cooler more visible spot. Have some fiberglass pipe wrap too add.

I do have flaps but I still expect that to be a possible issue. It’s pretty flexible and simple on that side to reroute. There is an existing hole there on the lower fender I’m using with nylon washers on either side.

    Dudes,

Made the plunge, and sent in my deposit. Will be picking up #211 next May. Pretty stoked! Now need to look at getting airbags installed to handle the extra weight.

Was sitting in the food cart area in Oregon city a couple weeks ago with family. My nephew pipes up," hey uncle isn't that camper like yours" . Sure enough one was crusin past on the back of a full size P.U. only got a glimpse and around the corner they went. That's the second one I have seen in the wild, (not including mine of course).

Getting a major winter upgrade with the maxxfan installed (almost).
    DFF3EC81-0A74-45D1-8B78-5FF7D6E8BC8A.jpg

There is a great post about the shortfalls of this fan

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lkIDSVldJis

but they are easily resolved. The biggest benefit it being able to keep the vent open in rain/snowy conditions.

Also got the wireless reverse camera mounted and wired up.

UPDATE on the goalzero - the RMA has been processed and return box is on the way, once they get my unit they’ll send out a new one. Mine did NOT meet the recall with the link I posted a while back (the issue they were seeing was not on my serial number). Customer service was great though and only requested a proof of purchase and Collin was able to get that to me quickly. If you have not registered your goalzero yet…I’d suggest doing it.

Couple of exciting additions also in the works - rear slide out porch and propane split off for bbq/stove.

Took care of the finishing touches for the heater exhaust re-route. I also have a picture showing how I modified the bulkhead. It is a slip fit but the high temp silicone and step down fitting, not shown, creates a solid fit. Diesel produces less carbon monoxide than gas but still nothing registered after 30min. I also used fiberglass wrap and high temp silicone spray to protect and bring down the surface temps. It may help with the sound. Bottom tail pipe was shortened and painted in high temp paint. We’ll see how it holds up. I may find an end cap for bad winter weather. It’s a cleaner, plug-in setup and safer with it off the to the side. During the summer it can be easily be taken down.

That looks very hot rod with the exhaust tape and safety wire!!

I'd think that being outside the Kimbo, the carbon monoxide would be a non-issue and even if you did have leak - it should roll out the tailgate like water - safety first (so I'm told).

    Nice work as ususal.
