Mine does it when there is a high crosswind. If i am remembering correctly there was a TSB to adjust the window mechanism. But since it only happens a few times a year usually in early spring when the we have lots of wind, it's not a big deal to me. In my experience dealer adjustments are usually a fucked up mess and cause more problems than what they cure. YMMV.

    Epic response Desmodue,

I found this comment in a related thread.

"cross wind noise like you describe is the windshield, take it to the dealer, they should reseal the windshield no questions asked just had my brand new 2013 windshield last week for the exact same issue that you described"

Still, rolling the dice at the dealer with a bill for something that does not actually fix the issue is an unlikely win.

Here's a good test to deterimine if it's the door window seal...just slightly roll the window down and see if the whistling stops. Like I said it happens infrequently on mine so, I look at it as a very minor inconveinience, if it happened all the time I probably would be actively searching for a fix

My 2nd and 3rd gen Taco whistles at highway speed when there is just the right quartering wind. There is a fix from the dealership that does change the aerodynamics around the window & A pillar. You should be able to find a discussion somewhere on the forum with more information.

2016: Probably the TSB for door seals. The dealer replaced both my front door seals and the highway whistles stopped. At lower speeds, there is another TSB for whistling of the lower control arm holes. Cheap plugs from Lowe’s will fix it, or the official dealer parts.
Both of the above required more than one visit to the dealer; they either couldn’t find the part or ordered the wrong part, after telling me to schedule because the parts were in stock.

    Mystery solved!

So the sound that seems to be coming from the top front corner of the cab, is coming from the top front corner of the cab... (see image)

It happens at speed with cross wind and is caused by the liner where a roof rack would go if you had one. I figure it is most easily remedied by some sort of putty or caulk.

I ordered the additional 3rd party door liner anyway, as it will keep road noise from the big tires out and bass from the JBL in. ;)
