    ever so slightly.

The stock rear bumper is not working out for me.

I need an aftermarket bumper that will take the gentle taps. My truck is stock (except for aftermarket hub caps) and I worry about the amount of weight 60-80 pounds those bumpers add.

When I travel I often max out the weight as it is.

Am I worrying too much about the added weight? Or is there a durable lightweight bumper out there? Maybe aluminum...

    Thanks for any feedback

Backwoods adventure mods makes a hybrid steel and aluminum rear bumper that should fit your needs. Or get a steel bumper and throw an extra leaf in your leaf pack

FWIW......seems like the rear bumper isn't the root of the problem.

Suggest a STEEL bumper for your needs. Look for a 3/8" thick welded high strength steel.....yield strength of the steel should be 100,000 psi.

Maybe just glance over at that backup camera once in a while?

I don’t have a bumper to recommend, but I think you’re at a point of compromise. A more durable bumper will inherently be heavier, and if you’re already at max payload you’ll need to supplement it somewhere else, most likely either in the springs or airbags.

At the Helm offers a nice slim bumper I have it. Took the tree fine when my spotter didn't tell me how far into the bush I was in then I hit the tree in it.

Swaps into the location of the hitch and is a direct bolt in. also is almost equal in weight to stock.

I forget which company, but I saw a bumper that wraps around to the back of the rear wheel well, they call it the tree saver, perfect for you.

These seem like the best answers... Your truck has a backup camera that was designed exclusively to help you not back into things... like thats the whole reason there is a backup camera.

Or you could get one of those bump steps since it appears your impact is at low speeds. It'll save you some money until you figure out what you want.

This is a hilarious post. OP you can get a cool bumper with out having to make excuses. We are not your spouse.

All kidding aside, I really like the RSI. I have seen them on tacos around here in person. From totally stock other than the bumper, to full tonka truck, they always look pretty good.

I was having that problem as well. To solve it I just leave my trailer hitch on all the time lol.

Didn't make an Iota difference when I put on my rear steel bumper. No sag, no problem. 60-80 lbs is like throwing a dog back there.

But, I'm not one to check my mileage.......
