20210914_104159.jpg Recently, the locking mechanism on the plastic storage doors for the bed compartments have rusted away and broke off. Does anyone have an idea of replacing the metal piece that locks in?

I swapped file cabinet locks into those, you probably could do just a piece of stainless steel that is thin, might have to bend it a bit.

What @Cipher94 said. Fun little project. If you catch Lowes / H-D on the right day, you may even get all three to be keyed alike.

Also if you do the swap, seal up the boxes to prevent it from happening again. There used to be someone selling a 3D printed kit, but it should be pretty easy with other stuff that you might have already?

A little hard to see, but here's my right box with a lock swapped in and some seal material around the outside:

I bought the truck used 3 years ago and through replacing things I believe the previous owner did not care for it well enough i.e. mud caked behind taillights and headlights. Frame has been undercoated each year since I bought it and all the warranty recall stuff done

I think Amazon sells a replacement kit with a whole new box that’s deeper on the inside

It has been posted around here and known to rust out. So, some care would be needed before installation.
