The most exciting part about a headliner that's been ripped down is driving with the windows down and getting all that foam dust shit in your face

I have that issue with my beater...

I thought, no big deal, grab a roll of fabric and re-do it. Except the old cardboard is so thin you look at it funny and it crumbles. Good luck trying to find one even in the junkyards; they all suffer the same fate. Wonder if an upholstery shop could help me. However, there's more pressing issues than this. The worn suspension bushings make it for an exciting ride on the rolling hills around here, pretty sure I need to fix that first

Get a can of spray adhesive from the craft store (The type that comes with a "WD-40" straw, and a razor knife. Cut straw-size slits in the fabric spray the foam with adhesive, fix in place with pins 'til cured.

Nice! The tank doesn't have to be anchored to a full pad? How long will that much propane run your gen set for?

Meanwhile for shits and giggles I googled one for my car. If it looks right I can get one for $105 through Mitsubishi. It's an Eagle, but same thing. Debating if I should do it or not...

Wait, I just looked at shipping, $227! o_O However the place is in Fredrick, MD which is about an hour from here. Hmmm. I might just see if the local Mitsubishi dealer can get the same part number...

So I just attempted aluminum stick welding for the first time. It was not a pleasant experience. For anyone who's done it before, these were the rods we had lying on the back of a shelf. Any comment on condition/experiences? It was very violent and the rod disappeared faster than I could move it into the material. I was trying to do it at 80 amps... Those rods are old and junk, that's alot of the issue. The coating doesn't take too kindly to age, that's any rod really. Also make sure your welded is capable of DC like it mentions.

However, don't throw them away. Knock the coating off of them and keep them as filler rods for the ol' Texas Tig method as they call it.

My own experience was that foam above the cloth was deteriorated enough that spray adhesive wasn't working. The upholstery shop scraped all the off of the old board and applied new. Then put new fabric on top of that. There's videos how to DIY, but for $150 that just seemed the best way to go.

Too late for that, we don't do any aluminum welding here at all. I just happened to need to put an aluminum air nozzle tip on an aluminum air wand. I got it on there... not winning points for beauty though.
