Time for some attention to the mower deck.

When people had asked me in the past to fix those I asked How much does a new one cost??

Once you start it keeps getting worse and worse .

If I ground that down to the point of "beauty" I'd have taken the whole thing off! :rofl:image.jpg

The steel deck is double thickness there and solid, the aluminum spindle housing acted like a shear pin when trying to process the Gibraltar sized rock.

One of those things old rods weather exposed aluminum !!

I have had decent luck welding Aluminum Battery boxes then 58 minutes cleaning 2 minutes welding .

I had a friend that worked for a Dump Trailer Manufacture the welders onthe build side would brag how easy the new aluminum was to weld to the point of getting cocky.

A week or two on the warranty repair side dealing with the dirty weather exposed aluminum sure humbled them .

I guess not. the propane company dropped the tank in the yard, and I picked it and set it with the tractor. The tank is a 330 gallon tank, he put in 265 after it was set, which should run the generator for 144 hours. hopefully I wont need it for that long!

Would you have it run 24/7 or shut it off when you could do without .

Thinking back to the one Hurricane where the Electric was out for 9 days.

Then your not likely to be home in any case

I think I can turn it on and off with my phone, even if I couldnt i can always walk out back and turn the switch off on the back of the generator. Id think running for a few hours on, an few hours off I could keep everything going for a few weeks. Pretty good chance I'll be out on storm if I needed it that long.

I've never tried welding with those but have tried the ones you use with a torch, it didn't work out for me.

Yet another GM problem they tell you is your problem. My brother in law did body work at GM and replaced a lot from that time, mostly self pay but occasionally a customer would find the secret warranty

That is the center blade, the outer one (that hit the Gibraltar size rock first) stopped so fast it spun the nut off the blade -- I had to go prospecting in the high grass to find it.

I'm considering a robot mower like my neighbor has... I hate mowing with a passion. Plus I work nights so my sleep schedule isn't conducive to yardwork. I lost two weekends working on my new truck suspension and now my grass is almost knee high....

I actually enjoy mowing because (breakdowns aside) it is a closed ended job.
Lawn looks bad -- mow -- lawn looks better -- done.
I have problems completing things it seems, mowing is one of the few things that I can say "I finished".
