    Hey All,

My plan for this truck is to use it as a capable adventure/camping rig that can haul my dirt bike. :bikewheelie2:

I really wanted a manual trans but I couldn't give up the bed or cab space. Would be cool if someone could swap cabs with an MT double cab :sawzall: lol

First laying eyes on it after signing the papers:

Got given the keys with only 6km on the odo!

Very first thing I did was run down the local auto parts and ordered up some front Weathertechs and cheapo seat covers.

Then had to drive back up north for work and immediately put on 1000km just on the drive up.

After 3000km on it I installed one of my must-have additions to keep bugs and rocks outta the rad. Simply took off the grille and glued some metal screen door mesh to the backside. The first attempt did not work too well, the hot glue didn't stick to the plastic like I hoped. Used Permatex on the second try and it holds well so far

Hondo Unholey Mount, with CB mic hanger and RAM x-grip mount.

There were bugs plastered all over the front of the truck so I went to go give it a wash and:

    Paint peeled right off! :(
Took it to the local dealer and they had a look at it and opened a case with Toyota.

    -Update:

They authorized a repaint under warranty :woot:

Took a little while, mostly because the auto shop I went to turned out to really be terrible, but the paint matches and the truck looks whole again!

Added all the essential stickers from Rrentrop

Super easy to install those stickers, especially using the wet method.

Got in on the Redline hood struts group buy. Probably the most intimidating thing I've tackled so far; drilling holes into the actual metal of the truck. People who've installed snorkels, I salute you.

Upgraded the cheap Canuckistan Tire seat covers to some less cheap ones.

Installed CaliRaisedLED ditch light brackets with some leftover Rigid pods from another vehicle I sold.

Galaxy DX 959 CB radio, RG8X coax, Astatic Road Devil mic, and 5ft Firestik antenna. Custom-made the antenna mount based off of C4's mount. Their mount was great and well-made, however the antenna base did not protrude far enough out from the tailgate to accommodate the stud and coax I used.

Been a minute since updating but figured I would since I want to show off pics.

I've stopped using the Astatic mic for the CB since it was causing more issues than anything. I was also pretty disappointed in the build quality of the mic and had better reports without it so for now it'll be benched.

I installed MESO's KC 3rd Brake Light back in 2019. Since then life has kind of taken over...

Fair warning to those that decide to paint the insides of the V1 Cyclone KC lights: Do not overtighten the screws! I don't remember cranking down on 'em so it could be a combination of screwing them down too tight and then expansion/contraction of the plastic throughout the year. I live in a climate that'll range from -40°C to +40°C so that very well could be the cause. What happens is the plastic cover will eventually crack - almost unnoticeably - and will allow water and moisture inside. The bottom few COB LEDs on the center light are burnt out and if you look close the right side red light is full of moisture.

Painting the white circuit board black makes all the difference in the looks of these lights, but the screw heads aren't worth it. At least in my case it wasn't since the paint flaked off most of the screws as soon as anything touched them.

Looks like KC has updated the design anyway so I guess nobody really has to worry about this anymore.

Havin some 3-Wheely fun. I've since painted those rims black and the Toyota emblems purple.

Towed my boat on a 9hr trip just fine! Trailer sits nice and level on it too.

That's all for now. Small uneventful update, I know.

    Upcoming plans:
Tidying up some loose ends, fixing the passenger side pod, inside needs a detail, grille needs repainting.
    Headlight and Taillight mods/retrofits
    Lift install!

If anyone has experience with OME 888 coils on Bilstein 5100s with JBA UCAs, I'd like to hear from you. I'm on the fence about committing to the 888 coils since I hear tales of sag and other issues, but some people have good luck, so I'm looking for some input there.
