I don’t imagine that lens is backward compatible is it.

I’d highly doubt it, I believe the v2s are slightly larger in diameter.

I think I seen 2.2” diameter on both.

IIRC talking to KC a while back before they released, the said the v2s were slightly larger. Maybe it wasn’t diameter. I’ll get my hands on some to compare being the previous cyclone was the best performing light in the thread.

I've got 6 of the old ones on now. I have 2 of the V2's that should arrive Friday. KC_Rocks.jpg

Awaiting measurements from either you or Crash. I have a KC5 that I just bought two clear V1’s for but I can’t find any red’s in V1. I still have 2 old red v1’s that aren’t cracked but that still leaves me shy one. I have 4 total cracked cyclones, 2 died from moisture 2 are still okay. Probably just going to cut up some lexan to make new lenses and use the good ones as rock lights.

DSIM has one too, we had a few compare-and-contrast discussions between the two options in his thread.

Nice, I hadn’t seen that. Need one for the JT so I’m not hacking up my wiring. :)

Posted in another thread but want to document for posterity here so I don’t have to dig through my Amazon purchase history for reference.

Here are the neodymium magnetic I purchased to mount my cyclones under the truck. I went with the 92lb units. These are absurdly strong and difficult to remove once attached.

Without having the Cyclone attached to the magnet, It would be almost impossible to remove from the toolbox.

12w is pretty extreme! That would get blisteringly hot, curious on how much output drop will occur for it to stabilize as there isn't much mass as a heat sink for that power level. $200 though... Based on power level that would be about 2 cyclones, which would cost $60. And obviously you typically run many rock lights if using for ground illumination under the truck.

Wonder if it's for a kit or pair or something. Also they could be relying in mounting to help aid in cooling. Lastly if they'll really warranty for me smashing them on rocks I'm in!!! Not really I want to see your testing first for that kind of money and how much spread its got etc

The output on the V2 is fantastic. The color is slightly different. More deeper of a color than V1.

just looked at the web site, $40 for a single 12W pod or $200 for a kit of 4.

That is certainly far more reasonable.

I can't wait to see the testing on the DD rock lights they announced at SEMA! If it's anything like their other lighting I'll for sure be a convert!

For anyone looking for specs, the cyclone V1 and V2 are the same diameter and depth. The back of the V2 is a bit different and center hole is slighly smaller and comes with a rubber plug.

Although, I like the V1 look much better. The outside edge of the V2 is an eye sore, but you can change lenses with other V2 lights (not backwards to V1).
