    Hello, new here.
Thanks for taking the time to hear me out.
As in the title I am installing a radio from a 2016 Tacoma into my boat.
Yes it will be out of the weather.
I purchased it off of an older person who had it removed and replaced with someting else shortly after buying the truck new.
There were no cables included and I have the power and speaker and antenna cables on the way from Amazon.
The only thing I want is to have radio and CD and USB when completed.
There will be no steering wheel controls or backup camera or GPS.
I need to find the cable to plug into the back for the USB (from what I can see on the internet this would be the gray port on the back, correct?)
Also I don't know if this is Bluetooth although since it has a phone symbol I suspect it has it... if so what else would I need to get Bluetooth to work?
One last thing, the seller tells me he contacted his Toyota dealership (the techs know him well) and they assured him there was no unlock code for this. Is that true? Sounded kind of odd but I needed to ask so he asked them.

P.S. In the first pic it shows Samsung above radio....that is my computer monitor behind radio..not the radio as I'm sure you know...lol

Thanks for any help or input.

    You’ll need
    -Metra 71-1761
-Reverse antenna adapter (something like this https://www.ebay.com/itm/1924763473...Du3Q2ucLjUIVG5fAkVMm9_T6Z0B22cMcaAmiMEALw_wcB )
-some type of generic antenna. your boat may already have one. if not, best buy or most auto part store will have them. they work through fiberglass so they don't necessarily have to be mounted
-USB adapter. you can get the factory version that will have the USB and aux wiring, and the plug that goes with it. this is pretty expensive. or you can get something simple like this https://www.factoryradioparts.com/p...ghlander-4runner-sequoia-entune-2-0-usb-cable

Bluetooth should work on the radio just fine.
Toyota radios do not need unlock codes. That's mostly just Honda

Thanks, thats what I needed to know. So I should be able to connect my phone via bluetooth and I can get tunes from my phone?
Also would I need a microphone for calls?
    Thanks for the great help.

You would need a mic for calls, and that will be quite difficult

Yes, I think I will just be happy to have radio, cd, bluetooth and USB. I can use the cellphone if needed like we do now. It works really good offshore where I'm at anyway.
Again thanks for the great help.

Yep. Make sure the least important two are hooked up to the rear outputs, because you won’t hear much from them

Just curious as to why? Are the entune designed to push less from the rear due to it being in a truck? Did they use this in any car models?

Most car brands push garbage to the rear these days. In jeeps, the sound bar speakers may as well not be there. In most sedans with speakers over the trunk, they may as well not be there. They try to put emphasis to the front speakers because that’s where the driver sits.

OK thanks, I got (what I think) was a good deal on this one which is practically new. I have gone through 3 units in my boat (about 1 every 4 years or so) 2 Jensens and one Pioneer and I bought them new. So I decided if I have to replace these things this often I would look for a good used one at a good deal. If this plays the CD and gets a good FM as well as the others I will be happy. Going out to install it now. Thanks again.

Well I got it installed and it sounds great. A couple of quick questions, Does it always power up when ign. is switched on? The power switch doesn't seem to work as I thought ...if I leave the ign. on and push the power off.. it will stay on until ign. off. I can touch screen off but I think the unit stays on? Also my bluetooth will not connect. I didn't want to use it for the phone .. just to connect to play the music on my phone. I keep getting a message "Microphone not connected" when I try to pair my phone. Is there any way to work around that? If not how can I connect a microphone? Thanks yet again.

The radio will stay “powered” as long as the red ACCY wire has power. Many boats have a dedicated switch for the radio, and this wire is where that switch would connect. The yellow wire is for constant power (to maintain radio presets, phone pairing, time, etc) and the red wire is the On/Off.
If your boat has some other device that turns on and off with the boats ignition, you can splice the red wire to that

as far as Bluetooth, this is not a factor I had considered before. Some searching could probably find you a Tacoma microphone. Or perhaps check a scrap yard for a 3rd gen you could salvage a mic from

Yes, I was saying Ign. but it is wired to a toggle switch. I just didn't know they stayed powered up like that. I will do a search for the microphone. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Now all I have to do is find the USB cable that plugs into the head unit and I'll be all set. Can't seem to find it in the US.
